Exercise Band Series: This series is based on rubbings I did of therapeutic exercise bands. I am fascinated by what is revealed in the rubbings: folds, wrinkles, rough and smooth edges, mysterious shapes and patterns, things I didn't see before I did the rubbings. 

Ice Drawing Series: This series is based on rubbings I do on the ice to capture the lines that a figure skater's blades leave in the ice. The power and beauty of figure skating has captivated me my whole life. 

Rubbings have been the main focus of my drawings for several years now. I love the immediacy and surprises that I get with every rubbing. Improvisation is another idea I investigate through drawing while exploring lines, shapes, shading, textures.
